Iberia completes first "C" check of Iberworld Airbus A-330

Iberia has completed its first exhaustive C-check on an Airbus A-330/300 belonging to the Iberworld company at its Madrid maintenance hangar.
The inspection came under the extended maintenance agreement between the two companies. For more than six years Iberia Maintenance has provided inspection and major maintenance services to Iberworld’s Airbus fleet.
The C-check involves detailed and deep exterior and interior inspections of all aircraft structures and systems. Iberworld’s Airbus A-330/300 carried up to 388 passengers and is used for long-haul flights.
Iberworld is a Spanish holiday travel airline belongign to the Orizonia group, Spain’s largest integrated tour and travel operator. It now operated 11 Airbus A-320s and A-330s, ranging from 180 to 388 seats
Iberia Maintenance has maintained aircraft for Iberia and outside clients for more than 80 years. It is the world’s ninth-largest maintenance company and the leading aircraft maintenance firm in Southern Europe. In 2007 its carried out a total of 1,273 aircraft inspections, including 1,002 A-checks; 244 C-checks, and 27 D-checks. It also performed maintenance on 145 engines, 34 auxiliary power units, and 68,083 components. Iberia’s maintenance unit aims to double its revenues from outside clients in the 2006-2008 period, largely through specialising in engine and component maintenance, along with other high added-value tasks.
